Verses about evil

In the scripture, evil is identified as a pervasive, destructive corruption that stands in direct opposition to God's holy character and created order. The verses about evil in the Bible teach believers to abhor wicked practices, guard their hearts against internal corruption, and actively turn away from every form of moral darkness. Main themes of below verses about evil include the deception and futility of sinful behavior, the origin of malicious intent within human thoughts, and God's sovereign authority to judge wickedness while overruling it to accomplish His good purposes. Rather than remaining passive or compromising with moral compromise, Scripture charges believers to actively confront darkness with truth, light, and unwavering integrity. The evil is given no permanent victory in the biblical vision, but is slated for absolute defeat through the redemptive work of God. By refusing to be overcome by evil and choosing instead to overcome evil with good, believers align themselves with God's ultimate triumph over darkness and death.

The Lord saw how bad the sins of man had become on the earth. All of the thoughts in his heart were always directed only toward what was evil.
