Getting caught trying to sneak past a rule or blaming someone else when things go wrong usually just makes the trouble double. Checking out verses about accountability shows why owning up to your choices and having reliable friends to keep you honest is so important.
Trying to hide your mistakes never actually works out because actions always catch up with you sooner or later. Scripture points out that having people around who care enough to call you out when you mess up helps you stay out of worse trouble.
Accepting responsibility instead of making excuses builds serious trust and shows you are growing up fast. Surrounding yourself with good friends who have your back and keep you focused makes navigating everyday life a whole lot easier.
But the Lord God called out to the man. "Where are you?" he asked. Genesis 3:9

People will die because of their own sins. The son will not be guilty because of what his father did. And the father will not be guilty because of what his son did. The right things a godly person does will be added to his account. The wrong things a sinful person does will be charged against him. Ezekiel 18:20
" 'But suppose the guard sees the enemies coming. And he does not blow the trumpet to warn the people. The enemies come and kill one of them. Then his life has been taken away from him because he sinned. But I will hold the guard accountable for his death.' Ezekiel 33:6

Have nothing to do with the acts of darkness. They don't produce anything good. Show what they are really like. Ephesians 5:11
Anyone who does wrong will be paid back for what he does. God treats everyone the same. Colossians 3:25
So cheer each other up with the hope you have. Build each other up. In fact, that's what you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11
Nothing God created is hidden from him. His eyes see everything. He will hold us accountable for everything we do. Hebrews 4:13
Let us consider how we can stir up one another to love. Let us help one another to do good works. Hebrews 10:24
Let us not give up meeting together. Some are in the habit of doing this. Instead, let us cheer each other up with words of hope. Let us do it all the more as you see the day coming when Christ will return. Hebrews 10:25
Obey your leaders. Put yourselves under their authority. They keep watch over you. They know they are accountable to God for everything they do. Obey them so that their work will be a joy. If you make their work a heavy load, it won't do you any good. Hebrews 13:17
So admit to one another that you have sinned. Pray for one another so that you might be healed. The prayer of a godly person is powerful. It makes things happen. James 5:16
