Elisha said, "Listen to a message from the Lord. He says, 'About this time tomorrow, you will be able to buy seven quarts of flour for less than half of an ounce of silver. You will also be able to buy 13 quarts of barley for the same price. That's all you will have to pay for those things at the gate of Samaria.' "

Verse Explanation
Elisha announces the word of the Lord that by the next day there will be abundant food available in Samaria. He declares that a large amount of fine flour and barley will be sold at very low prices at the city gate. This promise directly addresses the severe famine caused by the Aramean siege and demonstrates that God can reverse impossible situations suddenly.
History
Approx. 850 BC. Following the events of the Aramean siege of Samaria described in the previous chapter.
